Been down and out the last few days while I have been battling the flu. I finally got around to posting some photos from the fun dog show which is held in Market Square in front of City Hall prior to the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade through Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. As you can see from the photo, the people of the City of Alexandria REALLY love their dogs. Photos from the classic car show can be found at this link.

Longtime King Street stalwart Tiffany Tavern closed suddenly last year. Now, Los Cuates Mexican Restaurant is moving in. Los Cuates has a place in Georgetown. Their website states they over traditional mexican dishes and the ‘best margarita’s in town’.

Back in 2008, the City of Alexandria closed West Street between King Street and Cameron Street for some sewer work. The same section of street is closed again so that crews can install a more efficient Diversion Chamber and CSO Screen.
The work will take four (4) months so, if you’re looking for a good detour from the Prince Street side, take Fayette Street. If you’re coming from the Cameron Street side, take Peyton Street.
I was out and about at Bradlee Shopping Center last night on another matter when I stopped and admired the size of the new Lifestyle Safeway going in at 3526 King Street in Bradlee. I had seen the renderings on this when it was being discussed but, WOW!
